I was referred to this group by the nice folks in the Latin language group.

I know about Hagia Sophia [Holy Wisdom] and Hagia Irene [Holy Peace] churches in Constaninople built by the Emperor Constantine. I just became aware of another church he built Hagia Dynamis [Holy Force]. Does anyone have info on this other church in Constantinople? In my search I've only been able to find info on a small church in Athens.

I was wondering if Constantine had built these three churches to honor the Trinity? Hagia Sophia for the Son, Hagia Irene for the Holy Spirit and Hagia Dynamis for the Father?

In connection with the churches of Constantinople attributed to
Constantine, we read the following -

"The church of Hagia Dynamis, however, is quite uncertain even as a fourth
century building and escapes total rejection only because of its
traditional place in the pattern of divine qualities represented by Hagia
Eirene and Hagia Sophia."

I would think that "Holy Power" might give a better sense of "Hagia
Dynamis" than "Holy Force". At least, that's its usual sense in the
New Testament, e.g., in the doxological ending to the Lord's Prayer,
(σοῦ ἐστιν ἡ βασιλεία καὶ ἡ δύναμις καὶ ἡ δόξα) "for thine is the
kingdom and power and glory..." . (The plural form δυνάμεις/dynameis
often has the sense "miracles".)

I doubt that those associations were made. My understanding is that
the Old Testament concept of Wisdom (hochmah) became associated with
the Holy Spirit (but I don't know what associations may be made by
modern Greek Christians).
